SET-UP MENU

You will need to use a computer to set up the GPRS module.

From the menu, choose Start → Programmes → Accessories → Communications → HyperTerminal to access the

HyperTerminal programme. Enter a name for the connection and select the serial port to which the RTG 100 is to

be connected. The following connection settings should be entered:

Bits per second: 9600; Data bits: 8; Parity: None; Stop bits: 1; Flow control: None.

Now use the lead supplied (RJ45/D89 female) to connect RTG 100 to the serial port set in the HyperTerminal

programme. Then connect RTG 100 to the power supply.

Wait a few seconds, for the HyperTerminal programme screen to show the wording ‘password:’. Key in the

following password: 12345.

If you make a mistake when entering the password, you will need to unplug RTG 100 from the power

supply and then plug it back in again. This will reset the device and generate a renewed password

request.

Once you have entered the password, you will access the main set-up menu shown in figure 1.

To access the submenu, you will need to key in the corresponding number and wait for the new menu screen

and/or enter the data.
